Regular Season Round 32: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Ironi Nahariya 99-87

Date: May 11, 2017
Everything could happen in Hod Hasharon at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Bnei Hasharon and 6th ranked Ironi Nahariya had identical 17-14 record. This time Bnei Hasharon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Nahariya 99-87 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Ironi Nahariya managed to win second period 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Darrell Williams (203-89, college: Tex.A&M-Comm., agency: BeoBasket) who added 20 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) responded with 28 points and 5 assists and point guard Derwin Kitchen (194-86, college: Florida St.) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Nahariya's coach Eric Elfasi tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bnei Hasharon (18-14) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel J-M. Loser Ironi Nahariya keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will meet Maccabi Rishon (#7) in the next round. Ironi Nahariya will play against the league's leader Hapoel Eilat and hope to secure a win.
