Important game to mention about took place in North Lake. Fifth ranked Lightning (6-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Stirling S. (4-5) 78-76 on Friday evening. It was a great evening for American guard Devon Atkinson (185, college: Morehead St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) helped adding 20 points and 14 rebounds. Lightning's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds and American center Andrew Naymick (209-85, college: Michigan St.) scored 6 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Lightning maintains fifth place in League with 6-5 record. Stirling S. at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Lightning will play against higher ranked Redbacks (#4) in Northbridge in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stirling S. will play at home against Magic (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
