The game with biggest result difference took place in Holon. Local Hapoel Holon (21-11) beat 7th ranked Maccabi Rishon (16-16) 91-79 on Friday night. The game without a history. Hapoel Holon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Hapoel Holon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Darion Atkins (203-92, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier) who added 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International power forward Idan Zalmanson (206-95) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Hapoel Holon used an opportunity after Hapoel Eilat lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Defending champion Maccabi Rishon keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. Hapoel Holon will meet Galil Gilboa (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Bnei Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
