Date: May 13, 2017
There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Eagles (6-6) defeated 6th ranked Hawks (5-6) in Morley 95-77 on Saturday. Eagles forced 21 Hawks turnovers. Hawks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Mason Bragg (182-93) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Four Eagles players scored in double figures. The former international forward Ben Purser (201-90, college: Augusta) answered with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American center Brian Carlwell (211-87, college: San Diego St.) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Eagles moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Hawks dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Eagles will face Giants (#12) in Kalgoorlie in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hawks will play at home against Flames (#11) and hope to win that game.
