Very expected game when 6th ranked McKinnon C. (5-4) lost to first ranked Knox Raiders (9-2) in Wantirna South 84-95 on Saturday. Knox Raiders outrebounded McKinnon C. 58-33 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Dylan Hare (193-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. Knox Raiders' coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Dondray Walker (196-92, college: Newberry) added 17 points in the effort for McKinnon C.Knox Raiders maintains first place in League with 9-2 record. Loser McKinnon C. dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Knox Raiders will face Diamond Valley Eagles (#12) in Greensborough in the next round which should be an easy win for them. McKinnon C. will play at home against Stingrays (#10) and hope to win that game.
