Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Magic (3-5) defeated 12th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (1-9) in Greensborough 63-59 on Saturday. Jack Barry (-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Alex Bogart-King (200) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Brandon Conley (198, college: ORU) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and forward Harun Kansak added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Valley Eagles. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Magic maintains ninth place in League with 3-5 record. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Magic will face league's second-placed Ringwood Hawks in Heathmont in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diamond Valley Eagles will play on the road against Whittlesea City (#11) in Mill Park and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
