Regular Season Round 11: SW Metro P. - Gold Coast R. 92-95

Date: May 13, 2017
Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Rollers (2-2) edged bottom-ranked South West Metro Pirates (0-3) in Runcorn 95-92 on Saturday. Strangely South West Metro Pirates outrebounded Rollers 49-28 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Torrey Craig (198-90, college: USC Upstate) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import swingman Devon Sullivan (201-86, college: S.Connecticut) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Sullivan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jake Allen (193, college: Avila) added 25 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for South West Metro Pirates. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rollers moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser South West Metro Pirates still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
