Everything went according to plan when leader Mackay Meteors (2-0) defeated at home 8th ranked Townsville Heat (1-2) 99-86 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Shaun Bruce (190-91) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. The former international power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) contributed with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Joshua Wilcher (178-91, college: Cent.Wyoming) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Townsville Heat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mackay Meteors moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Townsville Heat dropped to the tenth position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
