Regular Season Round 33: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel J-M 75-79

Very expected game when 12th ranked Maccabi K/G (6-27) lost to fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (19-14) in Kiryat Gat 75-79. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Hapoel Jerusalem players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The former international forward Lior Eliyahu (205-85) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas, agency: HMS) who recorded 18 points and 7 assists and the other American import swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Maccabi K/G at the other side stay dead last with 27 lost games.
