Very expected game when 11th ranked Cholet Basket (14-20) was rolled over at home by seventh ranked Le Portel (19-15) 84-43 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Le Portel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cholet Basket to just 4 points in second quarter. Le Portel dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cholet Basket's 30. They outrebounded Cholet Basket 42-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188-87, college: Dakota Wesleyan, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. Center Jerry Boutsiele (207-92) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Portel maintains seventh position with 19-15 record, which they share with ASVEL. Loser Cholet Basket keeps the eleventh place with 20 games lost.
