Regular Season Round 29: Hermosillo - Guasave 82-89

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (21-6) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (14-14) 89-82. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rayos de Hermosillo won fourth quarter 31-29. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners and Gary Mondragon (-91) chipped in 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Myke Henry (198-92, college: De Paul) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guaymas. Rayos de Hermosillo at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Frayles de Guasave is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Pioneros Los Mochis (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
