An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad Obregon. Third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys faced second-best Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Guests from Tijuana (15-12) defeated host Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (19-10) 97-89. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 26-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 89-97 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Kareem Rodriguez (192) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who recorded 26 points and 9 assists and his fellow American import forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Aspire Sports) added 24 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys maintains third position with 15-12 record having eight points less than leader Hermosillo. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon at the other side keeps the second place with ten games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play again at home against Tijuana Zonkeys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
