An interesting game for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (20-10) which hosted in Ciudad Obregon 3rd placed Tijuana Zonkeys (15-13). Second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to get a 13-point victory 106-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 42-30 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tijuana Zonkeys' players. Tijuana Zonkeys were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Kevin Capers (188-93, college: Florida Southern) helped adding 21 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon maintains second place with 20-10 record having just one point less than leader Hermosillo. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side keep the third position with 13 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Pioneros Los Mochis (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
