Bottom-ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango managed to get a tenth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango edged fifth-ranked Frayles de Guasave 85-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 assists. American forward Roscoe Smith (206-91, college: UNLV) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) came up with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward Leroy Davis (200-81, college: Georgia St.) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Frayles de Guasave in the defeat. Five Aguilas Doradas de Durango and four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango maintains tenth place with 10-19 record. Loser Frayles de Guasave dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Guaymas. Aguilas Doradas de Durango will meet higher ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Frayles de Guasave will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and hope to secure a win.
