Regular Season Round 2: Piratas - Cimarrones 56-89

The game in Bogota supposed to be also quite interesting. Cimarrones (2-0) played at the court of Piratas (0-2). Cimarrones smashed Piratas 89-56 on Sunday. Cimarrones dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 28. They outrebounded Piratas 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Cimarrones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Jay Hardy (196, college: Shippensburg) scored 27 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Swingman Emiro Romero (194-84) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and point guard David Hernandez (172-96) scored 11 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones will meet at home Bucaros (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Piratas will play against Patriotas and hope to win that game.
