Regular Season Round 2: Aguilas - Condores 96-82

There was no surprise in Boyaca where Condores (1-1) were defeated by Patriotas (1-1) 96-82 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-82. Patriotas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Condores' 34 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Patriotas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Condores' players. American Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton) had a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jairo Pardo (-95) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. International forward Luis Almanza (196-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 22 points. Four Condores players scored in double figures. Condores' coach Tomas Diaz rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Patriotas will meet Piratas (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Condores will play against Academia (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
