No shocking result in a game in Perth where tenth ranked Stirling S. (7-5) won against 13th ranked Suns (3-14) 87-73 on Friday. Stirling S. dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 18 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Suns 28-16 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Corban Wroe (185-92, college: Hartford) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) responded with 19 points and swingman Kerrod Horn (186-93) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Stirling S. moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Suns keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Stirling S. will face higher ranked Wanneroo (#3) in Joondalup in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suns will play on the road against Redbacks (#4) in Northbridge and hope to win that game.
