The most exciting game of round 13 in the State League took place in Northbridge. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Redbacks (9-5) to second ranked Tigers (12-2) 101-100 on Friday evening. American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 23 points and 15 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) responded with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: Wayland Baptist) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Tigers keep a position of League leader. Redbacks at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost. Tigers are looking forward to face Lightning (#8) in North Lake in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redbacks will play at home against Suns (#13) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
