Very predictable result in Hornsby where leader Spireds (9-0) defeated 7th ranked Hunters (3-6) 88-78 on Saturday. Spireds looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Alicia Poto (166-78) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Kristina Moore helped adding 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Spireds players scored in double figures. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and Alison Ebzery scored 7 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Spireds maintains first place in League with 9-0 record. Loser Hunters keep the seventh position with six games lost. Spireds will face Bruins (#5) in Condell Park in the next round. Hunters will play at home against Hills Hornets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
