The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Mavericks as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Mavericks defeated 9th ranked Panthers in Mt. Barker 71-58. Mavericks forced 20 Panthers turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Alex Wilson (174-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Brooke Basham helped adding 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Teonna Campbell responded with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals and Haley Bunce (-91) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Panthers at the other side keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Panthers will play next round against Lions trying to get back on the winning streak. Mavericks will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Bearcats in Woodville.
