Everything went according to plan in Wonthella where second ranked Buccaneers (12-2) beat 9th ranked Flames (6-9) 84-79 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Buccaneers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Buccaneers outrebounded Flames 48-34 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Jackson Hussey (190-92, college: Pikeville) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Buccaneers players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (201-91, college: Washington St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Vincent Zollo (206-92, college: Cleveland St.) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Buccaneers maintains second place in League with 12-2 record having just sixteen point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Flames keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Buccaneers will face Giants (#12) in Kalgoorlie in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flames will play at home against Cougars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
