Important game to mention about took place in Dandenong. Fifth ranked Sabres (5-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Dandenong Rangers (7-6) 84-83 in the game for the fourth place. Strangely Dandenong Rangers outrebounded Sabres 41-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) nailed 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Igor Hadziomerovic (193-92, college: Boise St.) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists. American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Chauncey Orr (193-93, college: Hawaii Pacific) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Dandenong Rangers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sabres moved-up to fourth place in League which they share with defeated Dandenong Rangers. Dandenong Rangers at the other side keep the fourth position with six games lost. Sabres will play against Frankston Blues (#7) in Seaford in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play on the road against Tigers in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
