Regular Season Round 13: Eastern M. - S.Adelaide P. 78-84

Everything went according to plan in Mt. Barker where seventh ranked South Adelaide Panthers (3-5) beat 10th ranked Eastern Mavericks (1-7) 84-78 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Eastern Mavericks' 40. South Adelaide Panthers forced 21 Eastern Mavericks turnovers. American guard Eian Davis (185-90, college: Albertus Magnus) stepped up and scored 44 points (!!!) and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jarmal Reid (201-93, college: Oregon St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side forward Tom Cioffi (197-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) scored 20 points. Four Eastern Mavericks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. South Adelaide Panthers maintains seventh place in League with 3-5 record. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the tenth position with seven games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will face Central District Lions (#9) in Gawler in the next round. Eastern Mavericks will play on the road against West Adelaide Bearcats in Woodville and hope to win that game.
