Fifth-ranked Frayles de Guasave (17-17) gave a tough game to second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (23-11). Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to secure only two-point victory 121-119. However their fans expected easier game. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Frayles de Guasave was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners and scored 32 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 23-11 record having just one point less than leader Hermosillo. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas (#4) at home in the next round.
