Regular Season Round 13: Hume City - Werribee D. 87-97

Everything went according to plan in Tullamarine where fifth ranked Devils (7-5) beat 10th ranked Hume City Broncos (4-8) 97-87 on Sunday. They outrebounded Hume City Broncos 43-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Jeremy Smith (190, college: Nicholls St.) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and Blake Allison chipped in 23 points and 10 rebounds. Four Devils players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized British guard Lee Jeka (193-83) responded with 31 points and 7 assists and forward Luke Egan (200-74, college: E.Washington) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Devils maintains fifth place in League with 7-5 record. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Devils will face league's leader Ringwood Hawks in Heathmont in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hume City Broncos will play against Casey C. (#6) and hope to win that game.
