The most exciting game of round 8 in the Liga DirecTV took place in Montana. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Cimarrones (4-2) to seventh ranked Academia (3-3) 65-63 on Friday evening. The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Jay Hardy (196, college: Shippensburg) added 14 points in the effort for Cimarrones. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Cimarrones at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Caciques. Academia are looking forward to face Piratas (#7) in Bogota in the next round. Cimarrones will play on the road against Patriotas (#8) in Boyaca and are hoping to win this game.
