Regular Season Round 6: Sergio Ceppi - Arturo Prat 75-77

This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Sergio Ceppi (0-6) to sixth ranked Arturo Prat (3-3) 77-75 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sergio Ceppi won fourth quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arturo Prat forced 22 Sergio Ceppi turnovers. Strangely Sergio Ceppi outrebounded Arturo Prat 39-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Sergio Ceppi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international Ramiro Galvez (-96) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Boris Guerra (-87) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Elias Donoso (-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and guard Angelo Olivares (185-82) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sergio Ceppi. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Arturo Prat moved-up to fifth place. Sergio Ceppi at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Arturo Prat are looking forward to face higher ranked Liceo Curico (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sergio Ceppi will play against Aleman (#6) in Puerto Varas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
