Regular Season Round 7: Caciques - Condores 76-71

Date: June 3, 2017
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Condores (3-4) against fifth ranked Caciques (3-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Condores were defeated by Caciques in a tough game in Valleduparnga 71-76. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But Condores won second period 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Condores 45-30 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Caciques players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Condores' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Justin Martin (198-90, college: SMU, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Miguel Bermudez contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Venezuelan swingman Hector Diaz (197-92) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Lamar Roberson (203-86, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Condores. Condores' coach Tomas Diaz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caciques have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Condores lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Caciques will again play against Condores (#5) in Cundinamarca in the next round.
