Regular Season Round 7: Aguilas - Fast Break 85-92
Date: June 3, 2017
The game in Boyaca was also quite interesting. Second ranked Fast Break (4-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Patriotas (2-5). Fast Break managed to secure a 7-point victory 92-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-85. Fast Break forced 21 Patriotas turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 6 steals. American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) helped adding 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Four Fast Break and five Patriotas players scored in double figures. Patriotas' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fast Break have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Cimarrones lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Patriotas keep the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Piratas. Fast Break will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Patriotas will play again against the league's second-placed Fast Break (#2) and hope to secure a win.
