Regular Season Round 7: Academia - Cimarrones 69-61

Undefeated Cimarrones (4-1) recorded its first loss in Montana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Academia (2-3) 69-61. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cimarrones. Cimarrones were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) fired 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center Beicar Quinones (208-89) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Edgar Moreno (190-81, college: UTEP) produced 18 points and the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place. Cimarrones at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Fast Break. Academia are again looking forward to face league's leader Cimarrones in Quibdo-Choco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
