Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (21-15) against seventh ranked Frayles de Guasave (18-20) on Sunday night. Host Tijuana Zonkeys were defeated by Frayles de Guasave in a tough game in Tijuana 73-77. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-12 Tijuana Zonkeys' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 77-73 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for Gary Mondragon (-91) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St.) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Swingman Kareem Rodriguez (192) came up with 21 points and American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mazatlan. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side keep the third position with 15 games lost.
