Regular Season Round 13: Cockburn C. - SW Slammers 74-68

Date: June 9, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Hamilton Hill where 11th ranked Slammers (3-11) were defeated by ninth ranked Cougars (5-10) 74-68 on Friday. American forward Kersten Mitchell (185-90, college: Illinois) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Her fellow American import guard Brianna Moyes (170, college: Akron) chipped in 20 points. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Cougars' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kate Fielding (176-86) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Cougars moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Slammers keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Cougars will face higher ranked Senators (#3) in Leederville in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
