Very expected game in Morley where 12th ranked Eagles (2-12) were defeated by fifth ranked Tigers (8-6) 77-62 on Saturday. Tigers forced 28 Eagles turnovers. Strangely Eagles outrebounded Tigers 50-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) fired 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. German power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Canadian forward Abbey Duinker (190-91) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian power forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Eagles' coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tigers maintains fifth place in League with 8-6 record. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Tigers will face league's leader Magic in Mandurah in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play on the road against Wanneroo (#6) in Joondalup and hope to win that game.
