There was an upset in Brisbane where higher ranked Capitals (3-3) were defeated by twelfth ranked Clippers (2-4) 82-78 on Saturday. Clippers forced 21 Capitals turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Clippers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Clippers made 9 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Chelsea Small (185, college: Indiana St.) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Guard Dlesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson) produced 27 points and 4 assists and center Ariel Butts (190-93, college: Rutgers) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Clippers moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Capitals dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Clippers will face SC Rip (#12) in the next round.
