Regular Season Round 9: Fast Break - Caciques 84-62

The game between Top Four teams took place in Bogota. First ranked host Fast Break (6-1) smashed second-best Caciques (4-3) 84-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caciques. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) nailed 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) accounted for 14 points. Crockrell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Fast Break's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Anthony Gurley (190-88, college: Massachusetts) came up with 23 points and the other American import forward Justin Martin (198-90, college: SMU, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points respectively for Caciques in the defeat. Fast Break have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first place with 6-1 record. Caciques at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Academia and Cimarrones. Fast Break will again play against Caciques (#4) in Valleduparnga in the next round. Caciques will have a break next round.
