Regular Season Round 15: Goldfields G. - Perry Lakes H. 74-69

There was a small surprise in Kalgoorlie where twelfth ranked Giants (5-10) defeated 9th ranked Hawks (6-10) 74-69 on Saturday. Giants made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) who scored 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward JB Pillard (201, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Ben Purser (201-90, college: Augusta) who recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Brian Carlwell (211-87, college: San Diego St.) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Giants maintains twelfth place in League with 5-10 record. Loser Hawks dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Giants will face Suns (#13) in Kalamunda in the next round.
