Regular Season Round 15: SW Metro P. - Logan T. 89-82

Everything could happen in Runcorn at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked South West Metro Pirates and 10th ranked Logan T. had identical 2-4 record. This time South West Metro Pirates used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Loganholme 89-82 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Logan T. won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. South West Metro Pirates made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Logan T. only scored five points from the stripe. South West Metro Pirates looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Logan T. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 30 points. Guard Ryan Vines (178-91, college: Co.Georgia) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Michael Cedar (190-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and forward Mitch Young (206-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Logan T. players scored in double figures. South West Metro Pirates (3-4) moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Logan T. dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face Gladstone Port City Power (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Logan T. will play against the league's second-placed Brisbane Capitals where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
