Regular Season Round 11: Fast Break - Piratas 92-71

Date: June 13, 2017
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Bogota: Fast Break (#1) and Piratas (#8). Fast Break (8-1) crushed visiting Piratas (3-8) by 21 points 92-71. They outrebounded Piratas 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Crockrell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Venezuelan forward Jhon Romero (199-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Fast Break and four Piratas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fast Break have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first place with 8-1 record. Piratas lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with Aguilas. Fast Break will again play against bottom-ranked Piratas (#8) in Bogota in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piratas will have a break next round.
