Regular Season Round 11: Academia - Sabios 103-80
Date: June 13, 2017
An interesting game for Academia (6-3) which hosted in Montana second-ranked Sabios (6-5). Third ranked Academia had an easy win 103-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sabios. Academia looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Sabios' players. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian point guard Tyler Murray (195-90, college: Wagner) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 17 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Forward John Velez (202-83, college: TCU) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian guard Shamar Coombs (185-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals respectively for Sabios in the defeat. Four Academia and five Sabios players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Academia. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Loser Sabios dropped to the third position with five games lost. Academia will again meet at home Sabios (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sabios will have a break next round.
