Regular Season Round 12: Fast Break - Piratas 94-77

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bogota: Fast Break (#1) and Piratas (#8). Fast Break (9-1) smashed visiting Piratas (3-9) by 17 points 94-77. Fast Break looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Piratas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American guard Henry Uhegwu (191-82, college: S.Utah) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 assists and the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Fast Break's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Gerson Pena (186-86) with 27 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Fast Break have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first position with 9-1 record. Piratas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. They share the position with Aguilas. Fast Break are looking forward to face Cimarrones (#5) in Quibdo-Choco in the next round. Piratas will play on the road against Condores in Cundinamarca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
