Regular Season Round 12: Academia - Sabios 95-78

The game between Top Four teams took place in Montana. Second ranked host Academia (7-3) defeated 3rd ranked Sabios (6-6) 95-78. Academia dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sabios' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international power forward Beyckar Aguaslimpias (204-88) who scored that evening 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) supported him with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 5 assists by Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) did not help to save the game for Sabios. Luis Blandon (-88) added 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Academia and four Sabios players scored in double figures. Academia have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Fast Break. Sabios at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Academia will play against Caciques (#3) in Valleduparnga in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sabios will play at home against Patriotas and hope to get back on the winning track.
