Regular Season Round 4: Miramar - Auriblanco 96-75

Date: June 15, 2017
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Miramar (#5) and Auriblanco (#2). Miramar (3-1) smashed visiting Auriblanco (2-2) by 21 points 96-75. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Miramar outrebounded Auriblanco 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jeffrey Fahnbulleh (200-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds and forward Martin Trelles (187-96) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Rodrigo Goncalvez responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and center Joaquin Jones (202-97) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Miramar keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Atenas and 25 de Agosto. Auriblanco at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Miramar will play against Colon (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Auriblanco's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Atenas.
