Very important is a home loss of second ranked Hawks (14-1) against sixth ranked Wanneroo (9-9) on Friday night. Host Hawks were defeated by Wanneroo in a tough game in Floreat 63-72. Hawks trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 20-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 63-72 at the end of the game. Guard Shani Amos (170-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 assists. Forward Klara Wischer (185-91, college: San Diego) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. Power forward Sarah Donovan (188-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Lauren Jeffers (170-88) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Hawks. Wanneroo moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Hawks keep the second position with one game lost. Wanneroo will have a break next round. Hawks will play at home against Cougars and hope to win that game.
