A very interesting game took place in Bendigo. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Chargers (10-5) to third ranked Bendigo Braves (9-7) 89-87 on Friday evening. American power forward C.J. Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bendigo Braves maintains third position in League with 9-7 record having just eight point less than leader Mackay M. Chargers at the other side keep the second place with five games lost. Bendigo Braves' next round opponent will be Frankston Blues (#7) in Seaford. Chargers will play at home against Bandits (#5) and hope to win that game.
