Regular Season Round 16: Lakeside L. - Rockingham F. 78-83

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Lightning (8-10) lost to seventh ranked Flames (8-11) in North Lake 78-83 on Friday. Lightning was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a very good performance for guard Ryan Godfrey (187-90, college: W.Georgia) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 assists. Guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (201-91, college: Washington St.) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 25 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Devon Atkinson (185, college: Morehead St.) added 16 points, 11 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Lightning. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Flames went down to tenth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Lightning keeps the ninth place with ten games lost. Flames will face league's second-placed Tigers in Willetton in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
