Regular Season Round 16: Stirling S. - Perth R. 78-89

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Redbacks (11-6) beat 9th ranked Stirling S. (8-9) in Perth 89-78 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: Wayland Baptist) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Michael Vigor (206-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Redbacks' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international forward Cody Ellis (203-90, college: St.Louis) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) added 19 points in the effort for Stirling S.Redbacks maintains fourth position in League with 11-6 record. Loser Stirling S. dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Redbacks will face Magic (#14) in Mandurah in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stirling S. will play on the road against Flames (#10) in Rockingham and hope to win that game.
