Very predictable result when eighth ranked Brisbane Spartans (4-5) won against at home 14th ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (1-7) 90-77 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Brisbane Spartans outrebounded Toowoomba Mountaineers 54-38 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Toowoomba Mountaineers' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brisbane Spartans made 7 blocks. Toowoomba Mountaineers were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brisbane Spartans moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Toowoomba Mountaineers keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Brisbane Spartans will face Maroochydore Clippers (#12) in Cotton Tree in the next round where they are favorite. Toowoomba Mountaineers will play at home against Brisbane Capitals and hope to win that game.
