Regular Season Round 14: Joondalup W. - East Perth E. 64-41

Date: June 17, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Eagles (2-14) were outscored by sixth ranked Wanneroo (9-9) in Joondalup 64-41 on Saturday. Wanneroo shot 20 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Eagles only scored four points from the stripe. Wanneroo forced 25 Eagles turnovers. Forward Klara Wischer (185-91, college: San Diego) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Nikita-Lee Martin (184-88) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Canadian power forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jodee Sontay (-85) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wanneroo moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Wanneroo will have a break next round. Eagles will play on the road against Cougars (#8) in Hamilton Hill and hope to win that game.
