Regular Season Round 14: S.Adelaide P. - Southern T. 32-105
Date: June 17, 2017
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Panthers (2-9) were outleveled by third ranked Tigers (8-3) in Adelaide 105-32 on Saturday. Tigers held Panthers to an opponent 18.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.4 percent accuracy of the winners and made 32-of-38 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game, while Panthers only scored nine points from the stripe. Tigers forced 29 Panthers turnovers and outrebounded them 52-29 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Panthers' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 8 blocks. Panthers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Demi Skinner (-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Raynisha Washington (175-92, college: Northeastern JC) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Tigers players scored in double figures. Teonna Campbell replied with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Haley Bunce (-91) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Panthers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers moved-up to second place in League. Loser Panthers keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Tigers will face Warriors (#8) in Flinders Park in the next round where they are favorite. Panthers will play at home against Flames and hope to win that game.
