Very predictable result when first ranked Mavericks (10-1) rolled over 10th ranked Lions (1-10) in Mt. Barker 92-49 on Saturday. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 24. Mavericks forced 29 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Alex Wilson (174-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Hayley Wadforth contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Alisha Carlin replied with 17 points and Hannah Hank added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lions. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mavericks maintains first position in League with 10-1 record. Loser Lions keep the tenth place with ten games lost. Mavericks will face Rockets (#3) in Adelaide in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lions will play at home against Eagles (#5) and hope to win that game.
